Okon Recycling Celebrates Earth Day!

At Okon Recycling, located in Dallas, Texas, EVERY day is Earth Day! Earth Day is an annual event held on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Originally proposed in 1969 by Wisconsin Senator Gaylord Nelson, Earth Day has helped to grow the movement towards environmental stability, and support has exceeded expectations. The Environmental Protection Agency was established and the Clean Air Act was passed by the end of 1970. Since then Earth Day has grown to include more than 1 billion people in 193 countries. 

At Okon Recycling we wanted to do something extra special this year. We celebrated Earth Day in style by giving away a 65 inch eco-friendly smart TV and other valuable prizes! To win, you had to guess how many can were in bail. The answer: 23,386 cans!
